Welcome to The Book of Sarah (Updated 11/30/09)

*
The Book of Sarah is a reference website containing well over 3,000 active links to news stories, press releases, photos, videos, MP3s, PDFs, blog posts and websites about Alaska's remarkable Sarah Heath Palin. It's not yet a database, because we haven't used tags to put the information in searchable form. That will come later. For the time being, we are collecting the information and organizing it chronologically.

Our intial concentration was on that part of the governor's career prior to the 2008 RNC convention, because that information is harder to find, and we wanted to do the heavy lifting early on. Although older links continue being added as we track them down, our focus is now on staying current with the latest Sarah Palin information.

Hyperlinks do become broken over time. Newspapers are particularly notorious for dropping older material or "archiving" it and then charging a fee to access it. Some video links get broken over terms of use issues also. Please notify us of any broken links you encounter, and we will try to find an anlternate path to the material.

Using Archive-It and the manual "start on demand" feature inside the web application, the Alaska State Library crawled Governor Palin and Lt. Governor Parnell's web sites on the eve of the transition of power and was able to capture valuable information which would have otherwise gone offline and no longer been accessible.

The foresight of the staff of the Alaska State Library and the availability of the Archive-It web archiving service made it possible to preserve the final changes to these "at risk" websites before they were taken offline. Actually, all the pages that were available before the transition will still be available once the staff's work is completed. The difference is that they are now going into an archive instead of at their former locations. The old web documents for then Gov. Palin have new URLs. Gov. Palin's news releases, for example, are now in the Press Archive here.

We hope the information your find here will be useful to you.

So glad I found this! It will, of course, aide my research as I continue to write about Sarah. (as we know it can be terribly difficult to find an ACCURATE story these days about the Governor) So, THANKS! I'll visit often!
